Mooralla Smokey Quartz is found in the Mooralla Gemstone Reserve, Victoria also known as Beaar Fossicking Reserve, is located 30 minutes north of the township of Cavendish Vic. The renowned location is famous for the Mooralla 'smoky quartz' crystals found here. The quartz specimens typically range between 1 cm and 4 cm in length.
Morella smokies are naturally occuring dark grey to black quartz crystals. Not always, but very often they are double terminated and their growth habits are amazing.
