About My Florist Launceston Tasmania
My family’s connection with the flower industry began in the 1980s, during the flower-growing boom associated with Triffett Flowers and Tesselaar Flowers. My parents grew and supplied blooms, and that history became part of my own journey with flowers.
My own experience began while I was still at high school and has included flower growing, wholesaling, bulk flower distribution and retail, including 19 years working with flowers in Westbury.
It really does feel as though flowers are in my blood.
The Story of My Florist
My Florist began in 2015 as My Florist Westbury. In 2017, the business moved to Launceston and continued to grow, eventually leading to the opening of our current South Launceston shop in 2022.
Today, My Florist Launceston Tasmania is independently owned by me, bringing together many years of flower industry experience with a very personal approach to floristry.
The Beginning of Metaphysical Launceston
In April 2021, I wanted to offer something different alongside flowers rather than the same generic florist gift lines.
With my own love of tarot cards and the metaphysical world, Metaphysical Launceston was created.
It began with one little table of crystals and metaphysical items at the Evandale Market. From that single table, the collection grew into the crystals, tarot and oracle cards, crystal jewellery, incense, plants and meaningful gifts you'll find in our shop today.
Flowers, Crystals & the Light Between
Our South Launceston shop is a little different from a traditional flower shop.
Outside is the noise and movement of busy Wellington Street. Step through our door and the feeling changes. Flowers, plants and crystals surround you, the gentle sound of our water feature runs through the shop and beautiful fragrances fill the air.
Our customers often tell us how wonderful the shop smells and how peaceful it feels.
That is why I describe it as our sensory sanctuary — somewhere to step away from the stressful world outside for a while and simply enjoy the space around you.
Floristry With Heart & Soul
I put my heart and soul into every flower order. Flowers energise me, and even after all these years I still love seeing fresh flowers arrive and imagining what they can become.
Some of the work closest to my heart is creating funeral flowers and floral tributes. Knowing the flowers I create will form part of a family's final farewell to someone they cherished makes this work incredibly meaningful to me.
Casket sprays, floral sheafs and sympathy tributes allow me to create something personal that reflects a life, a memory and the love held for that person.
For me, that is one of the greatest privileges of being a florist.
My Florist Launceston Today
Today, My Florist Launceston Tasmania and Metaphysical Launceston share our home at 2/222 Wellington Street, South Launceston, bringing fresh seasonal flowers, plants, crystals and meaningful gifts together in one space.
From My Florist Westbury in 2015, to Launceston in 2017, the creation of Metaphysical Launceston in 2021 and our South Launceston shop in 2022, the business has changed and grown considerably.
The heart behind it hasn't.
Flowers, crystals & the light between.
